Job Summary

We are seeking Business Development Manager to spearhead Shukran’s growth within our segmented markets. The ideal candidate is someone who gets energized by growth, loves a balance of being out in the field or in the office, a relater who turns conversations into lasting partnerships. You will be at an advantage if you already have an existing network in the hospitality space. You naturally take initiative, are hungry, ambitious to support Shukran scale  in the market while impacting the lives of the service workers. 

 

In this role, you will drive market activation, lead B2B acquisition, and build strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Market & Revenue Growth

  • Lead Shukran’s commercial growth across the Segmented Kenyan Markets.
  • Identify, engage, and close high-potential partners in hospitality — hotels, restaurants, tour companies, and hospitality groups.
  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing.
  • Map and prioritize key regions, segments, and partnerships for high-impact expansion.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Work hand-in-hand with the Customer Success team to ensure onboarding, retention, expansion, and upsell of Shukran Finance products.
  • Maintain strong, long-term B2B relationships across all accounts.

3. Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Achieve quarterly and annual targets for client acquisition and tipping volume growth.
  • Monitor market dynamics, customer feedback, and competitor activities to inform strategy.
  • Adjust go-to-market approaches based on real-time insights and field data.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance insights.

4. Product Feedback & Market Intelligence

  • Develop deep knowledge of Shukran’s products and communicate their value clearly to clients.
  • Gather insights from partners and users to support product localization and feature improvements.
  • Work closely with product teams to provide structured feedback and market intelligence.

5. CRM & Operational Coordination

  • Maintain accurate client data, deal progress, and account activity in Shukran’s CRM systems.
  • Ensure seamless internal handover of accounts to Customer Success and Operations teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure consistent service delivery and partner satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or account management — ideally in fintech, hospitality or SaaS platforms.
  • A proven track record of driving B2B growth and managing high-value client accounts.
  • Deep understanding of Kenya’s hospitality sector and strong industry networks.
  • Excellent communicator, negotiator, and relationship builder.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-moving, startup environments.
  • Data-driven, strategic thinker with strong execution skills.
  • Passionate about digital transformation and improving financial inclusion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, Finance, or a related field.

  • High integrity, professionalism, and ownership mindset in partner-facing interactions.
  • Comfortable working independently in fast-paced startup environments, with strong execution discipline.
