About Shukran
Job Summary
We’re looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to lead Shukran’s growth in Tanzania/Zanzibar. You’ll play a key role in market activation, client acquisition, and managing strong relationships with hospitality partners. You will collaborate with product, customer success, and marketing teams to ensure seamless adoption, client success, and platform growth.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who understands the local hospitality ecosystem and is passionate about driving financial inclusion and innovation at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Partner Acquisition
- Lead the growth of Shukran in the Tanzania/Zanzibar market
- Identify and engage key partners across hospitality, including hotels, restaurants, tour companies, and hospitality groups
- Own the sales pipeline—from lead generation to closing deals
Client Relationship Management
- Support smooth client onboarding, training, and account management
- Work closely with the Customer Success team to ensure clients are retained and uptake of other Shukran Finance Products.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Achieve individual growth targets for new clients and tipping volume
- Track and report on market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity and adjust go-to-market tactics based on real-time feedback
Affiliate & Community Engagement
- Launch and manage Shukran’s local affiliate/referral program to grow reach
- Build partnerships with tourism associations, local influencers, and community leaders to drive platform adoption and the growth of Shukran Community in the region.
Product Feedback & Market Intelligence
- Develop a strong understanding of Shukran’s product suite to effectively communicate value to partners
- Gather market and user insights to inform product localisation and feature development
CRM & Operational Coordination
- Maintain accurate sales and client data using internal tools (CRM)
- Ensure smooth internal handover of accounts and insights to support long-term success
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or account management—preferably in hospitality, fintech, or a tech-enabled environment
- Proven ability to build and manage client relationships, particularly B2B accounts
- Deep understanding of the local hospitality landscape in Tanzania/Zanzibar
- Strong communicator and relationship builder with negotiation skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
- Data-driven, proactive, and passionate about using technology to drive social impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or related field
